The strength of the force in Galway city has been increased by four Gardaí in the past three months. As I have stated in reply to recent questions regarding Garda strength, I am having a general review of the distribution of the force carried out by the research and planning unit of the Garda Síochána. The adequacy of the Garda strength in Galway city will be examined as part of this review but I am not in a position at this stage to say what the outcome will be.
