Vol. 251 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Estates.

78.

asked the Minister for Lands if the division of the Tierney estate, at New Inn, Cashel, County Tipperary, is now completed and whether any local man secured land.

79.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that there is a large number of smallholders in the immediate vicinity of the Tierney estate, Cashel, County Tipperary, who would be deserving of a portion of the estate; and that it would be preferable to divide it in this way rather than allocate it to one man; and what the intentions of the Land Commission are regarding its division.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 78 and 79 together. Pending completion of the necessary inquiries on the ground I am unable to indicate when allotment of this 59-acre holding will be effected. The selection of allottees for land is a matter reserved to the Commissioners. I am confident that the claims of all applicants will be throughly assessed before the lands are finally allocated.
