Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade with South Africa.

10.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if the Government have any proposals currently before them for the severing of trade links with South Africa.

If the Deputy will repeat his question in a week's time I expect to be in a position to give him a reply.

On a point of order and in relation to the Minister's reply, I must protest very strongly. I have questions down ever since I was elected to this House in relation to the political racial situation in South Africa, and I can assure the House and the Minister that because there happen to be 5,000 Fianna Fáil delegates assembled in the RDS for the next few days——

This has nothing to do with the question before the House.

The people of this country are more important than 5,000 assembled delegates——

Question No. 11.

I do not think the Deputy should equate himself and his question with the people of the country. He must remember the Fianna Fáil organisation represents some part of the people, too.

(Interruptions.)
