Vol. 253 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Warble Fly Eradication Scheme.

57.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the nature of the stated opposition by farming organisations to the Warble Fly Eradication Scheme, which was scheduled to commence in September, 1970.

One farming organisation took the line that they would co-operate only if my Department subsidised the direct cost of the warble fly dressing. Another publicly advised its members to withhold co-operation from the scheme as part of its campaign to secure increased milk prices.
