Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - Wexford Unemployment Assistance Applicant.

5.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a person (details supplied) in County Wexford applied for unemployment assistance; and why there has been such a long delay in making a decision on the matter.

The person concerned applied for unemployment assistance on 10th June, 1970. Investigation of his means was necessary and when this was completed payment of all arrears due was made on 31st July, 1970. Payment has continued weekly since that date except for a period in August last when the applicant did not sign the unemployed register. There was no undue delay in deciding the case.
