Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Social Amenities.

69.

asked the Minister for Local Government how many areas in County Dublin have applied for grants towards swimming pools and other similar amenities; and the names of the areas concerned.

I have received proposals from Dublin County Council for sanction to their making grants towards the provision of swimming pools in four areas, namely—St. Mary's School for the Deaf, Cabra, St. Vincent's School for the Mentally Handicapped, Navan Road, the Dundrum Family Recreation Centre at Ballinteer, and the Kingstown and Avoca School, Blackrock.

Applications have been made to the county council also for grants for swimming pools by an approved local council in Malahide and by Wesley College, Dundrum.

So far as other amenities in the Dublin area are concerned, I have received applications from the county council for grants towards the cost of providing amenities in two areas, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course at Lusk and a public park at Milltown.
