Vol. 259 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Classified Telephone Directory.

140.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether it is proposed to divide the Golden Pages classified directory into separate directories for Dublin and the provinces; and, if so, whether this is being done with the consent of all concerned.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. It was not considered either practicable or necessary to obtain the consent of the hundreds of thousands of people who use the classified directory. The Department was satisfied in agreement with the contractor who produces the directory that the division would make the directory more convenient to users and would be advantageous to advertisers.
