Vol. 259 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Retirement Pension.

24.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why payment of a retirement pension has been discontinued in the case of a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

The person referred to in this question claimed retirement pension in September, 1971. After investigation it was established that he ceased to engage in insurable employment on 1st December, 1971, and he was accordingly awarded and paid retirement pension as from 2nd December, 1971. Pension continues in payment to him.

As I explained to the Deputy on 16th June, 1971, in reply to a previous question by him concerning this case, an earlier award of retirement pension as from 10th December, 1970, was revoked as it was established that the person concerned had continued to engage in periodic insurable employment as a farm worker with his former employer subsequent to the date of award of the pension.
