asked the Minister for Finance if he will give the annual returns over the past decade of (a) custom returns on vehicles and vehicular parts; (b) custom and excise returns on road fuels; and (c) wholesale and turnover tax on motors, motor parts and motor fuels.

The answer to parts (a) and (b) of the question is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

As regards part (c) of the question, statistics are not compiled on a basis that would enable me to supply the information sought. I might add, for the Deputy's information, that vehicles which are not passenger motor vehicles are not liable to either turnover tax or wholesale tax and road fuels and motor parts are liable only to turnover tax.
