Vol. 261 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Arms Smuggling Report.

40.

asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) of a meeting in Dublin in the last week of May, 1972, between nine terrorist emissaries of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Irish guerilla groups to discuss the smuggling of explosives and guns into Ireland with the aid of a friendly Arab Government; if there is any known foundation for the report; whether the assistance of Interpol or any other police or governmental agency has been sought and given to help stop such traffic; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been informed by the Commissioner, Garda Síochána, that the Garda do not know of any foundation for the report referred to.
