Vol. 261 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Installations.

117.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether any possibility exists of dealing more rapidly with applications for telephone installations; and whether there will be any increase in the number of applications dealt with in the coming year.

Telephone applications will be dealt with more rapidly according as more exchange equipment and underground cables are installed in those areas where provision of service has had to be restricted. It is expected that the number of telephones which will be installed this year will show a substantial increase on the number provided last year.
