Vol. 262 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Homeless Persons.

11.

asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange for co-ordination between the Department of Health and the Department of Local Government to include proposals for the provision of public funds to assist in the work and coordination of voluntary organisation and other bodies concerned with homeless persons.

I am satisfied that existing arrangements for co-ordination of the activities of the Departments of Health and Local Government are adequate. In addition to such ad hoc meetings as are arranged to discuss specific problems, there is also in existence an Inter-Departmental Committee on Social Work Affairs on which both Departments are represented and, in the circumstances, further action on my part does not appear to be required.
