asked the Minister for Education the rate of contribution to be paid towards the cost of erecting a national school; and if the contribution varies from one county to another.
Written Answers. - School Building Costs.
128.
My Department's Rules for National Schools provide that the normal grant for the erection, extension or improvement of a primary school building is two-thirds of the cost, the local contribution being one-third. There is provision, however, for the payment of grants at a rate higher than two-thirds of the cost if circumstances warrant it. There is no set rate of local contribution as between one county and another.
