Vol. 268 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Traffic Islands.

31.

asked the Minister for Local Government if action has been taken by Dublin Corporation to realign certain traffic islands as suggested some months ago.

The Deputy's concern in this matter was brought to the notice of Dublin Corporation in accordance with the undertaking which I gave in my reply to his question on 6th June last. As I indicated in that reply, it is a matter for the local authority to decide on what steps should be taken in relation to traffic islands and other measures designed to assist the flow of traffic.

As well as acceptting my thanks to himself, would the Minister be kind enough to convey to the corporation my sincere appreciation of their prompt action in this matter, which I have no doubt will result in greater safety both to pedestrians and motorists.

Thank you. I shall do that.
