asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will increase research on the effects which new environmental preoccupations may have on the relations between the more industrialised areas of the country and the less developed areas, with the aim of reducing the gap in the standard of life between them.

In so far as I have any responsibility for the environment the Deputy may rest assured that environmental considerations are at all times taken into account both in formulating policies and in implementation of such policies.
