Vol. 276 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Knives.

36.

asked the Minister for Justice when he proposes to introduce legislation to deal with the use of knives in the furtherance of crime.

(Cavan): I would refer the Deputy to the Minister's reply to Question No. 117 of 28th February, 1974. The completion of the drafting of the Bill on this subject has been delayed because of certain technical legal matters that required further examination and consultation with the Attorney General. The Minister would hope to be in a position to submit the final text to the Government for approval at a very early date.

As in the case of the misuse of drugs, it will take a Private Members' Bill.
