Vol. 277 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Crescent (Limerick) Post Office.

55.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the vacancy in the Crescent sub post office, Limerick, was advertised; the number of applications received; and the name of the successful applicant.

The vacancy was advertised from 19th July, 1974, to 3rd August, 1974. One application, from Mrs. Elizabeth Catherine Smyth, was received and she was appointed.

Were any representations made directly to the Minister or to any section in his Department in connection with this appointment?

No representations were made to me personally. I know of no representations made to my Department. The case did not come before me for consideration and the decision taken concerning it was taken in accordance with standing practice where there is only one application by officials of the Department itself.
