Vol. 277 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Services Exclusion Clauses.

5.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received many complaints with regard to exclusion clauses for services.

I take it the Deputy has in mind clauses inserted by supplier in guarantees disclaiming liability for certain aspects such as labour costs. The Department occasionally have complaints arising from servicing of goods purchased under guarantee, and the Minister is looking into the question of exclusion clauses generally in the context of the report of the National Consumer Advisory Council, which he hopes to be able to publish within the next few weeks.
