Vol. 280 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Schools.

26.

asked the Minister for Education the plans his Department has for the provision of new post-primary schools to cater for the Farranree area of Cork city.

Mr. R. Burke

A site has been reserved in the Farranree-Churchfield area for a community school which will cater for the secondary education needs of the Churchfield-Farranree-Hollyhill areas. The timing of the development of this project is under examination in my Department at present.

Can the Minister give any prognosis as to when the development will commence?

Mr. R. Burke

The timing of the project is under examination at present. The requirements for a school in that area are for 1978-79 and consequently it will not be too long delayed.
