Vol. 288 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Scholarship Awards.

12.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number, if any, of Irish children who were included in the recent 294 Paul Finet foundation scholarship awards.

No Irish children were included in the recent Paul Finet Foundation scholarship awards. The foundation has never received an application for a scholarship award from an Irish citizen.

The Department of Labour, to which all industrial accidents are reported, are not aware of any Irish person who was eligible to apply for a scholarship to the foundation since the date on which Ireland became eligible to participate in the scheme, which was 1st January, 1973, the date of Ireland's accession to the European Communities.
