Vol. 290 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford/Fishguard Steamer Service.

24.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if any approaches have been made to him by British Rail regarding the proposed withdrawal of the Waterford/Fishguard steamer service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No approaches have been made to me in this matter.

No statement whatsoever has been made on the matter. Are we to take it that due to the fact that it has been brought to the Minister's notice he will take some interest?

I do take an interest, but it seems to me inappropriate to make a statement until an approach has been made to me and I see the basis of that approach.
