Vol. 291 No. 4

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

101.

(Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a complaint from a subscriber (details supplied) in Dublin concerning nuisance telephone calls has been investigated by his Department; and, if so, the action taken in the matter.

Such a complaint made by the subscriber early in April has been under investigation but the source of the calls has not been traced. A change of telephone number, the new number to be exdirectory, has been recommended to the subscriber. If agreed to, arrangements will be made accordingly.

102.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the special need for a public telephone in the vicinity of the Irish College at Loughanure, County Donegal; and if he will have a kiosk erected there.

Kiosks are not provided in rural areas such as Loughanure where there is no post office. As regards the Irish College, there is a rented coinbox line in the technical school where college classes and functions are held.

103.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the cause of the unusually long delay in providing a telephone service for a person (name supplied) in County Kerry.

Attention to the application in question, which was received in November, 1974, has been deferred because of the extensive linework required and the number of similar waiting applications made prior to November, 1974. It is hoped to provide service during the first quarter of next year.

104.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when phone service will be available for residents of Bellevue Heights, Bellevue Park, Greystones and Ryecroft Estate, Bray, County Wicklow.

It is hoped to attend to waiting applications for telephones in the areas mentioned as follows:

Bellevue Heights

3rd quarter, 1976

Bellevue Park

4th quarter, 1976

Ryecroft Estate

2nd quarter, 1977
