Vol. 291 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cheshire Trust Funds.

8.

asked the Minister for Health if he will advance funds to the Cheshire Trust in Ireland to cover their current deficits; and if he will make a special provision for the Lismirrane Home, Bohola, County Mayo, for deficit financing in the initial stages when cost will be high while the full complement of residents is being built up.

In view of the special financial difficulties of the Cheshire Homes, arising from deficits accumulated over past years, I have found it possible to provide a special allocation towards these deficits. Officers of my Department will be meeting representatives of the Cheshire Foundation in Ireland very soon to discuss the apportionment of this special allocation between the different homes. The position of the new home at Bohola will be discussed at that meeting.
