Vol. 294 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teachers' Allowances.

5.

asked the Minister for Education if he will arrange that teachers with functional allowances who transfer from one school to another will be entitled to carry their allowances into their new appointment.

Teachers in secondary and comprehensive schools who are in receipt of special functions allowances and who transfer from one such school to another may retain those allowances. This arrangement does not, however, apply in relation to allowances for posts of responsibility as distinct from allowances for special functions.

Does this apply to vocational teachers going on transfer to other schools?

There is no such functional allowance applying to vocational schools.
