The question of increasing these grants is kept under continuing review in the context of available financial resources. The grants were increased as from the beginning of the academic year 1976-77.
Does the Minister realise that the grants are not adequate? He should seriously consider increasing them next year. Will he consider increasing the limit in respect of those people who will qualify for the grants?
In reply to a question on 4th November I repeated my undertaking that there would be a fundamental review of all aspects of this scheme in readiness for the year 1977-78.
