asked the Minister for Social Welfare the annual cost of reducing the qualifying age to 65 years for old age contributory and non-contributory pensions and the associated benefits of free travel, electricity allowance and the free television licence scheme.

It is estimated that the gross annual cost of reducing the qualifying age from 66 to 65 years for old age contributory and non-contributory pensions and the associated schemes would be in the region of £10 million.
