asked the Minister for Fisheries if he will furnish a full report on the condition of Mullaghmore pier and harbour in County Sligo, with special reference to the dredging of the harbour and the maintenance of the pier; and if engineers from the Office of Public Works will meet the County Engineer for Sligo on the spot in order to determine what best can be done to preserve the harbour and pier from falling into decay.

The maintenance and upkeep of Mullaghmore Harbour is the responsibility of the Sligo County Council. Nevertheless I will make arrangements with the Office of Public Works to have engineers from that office accompany engineers from my Department to a meeting on the spot with the County Engineer for Sligo in order to examine the present condition of the harbour in order to establish what works, if any, are necessary.
I will make a full report on the condition of Mullaghmore pier and harbour available to the Deputy when the inspection has been completed.
