Allocation of Time: Motion.

I move:

That notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders and in the Resolution of 12th October, 1977 (as amended by the Resolution of 14th December, 1977) relating to business and sittings the following arrangements shall apply today in the debate on the motion in the name of the Minister for Finance relating to food subsidies and the motions taken in conjunction therewith:

(a) the speech of each member called on shall not exceed 30 minutes;

(b) the final speaker from the Labour Party and the final speaker from Fine Gael shall be called on not later than 5.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively and a member of the Government shall be called on not later than 6.30 p.m. to conclude the debate; and

(c) if a division be demanded on any Question or Questions put from the Chair in connection with the proceedings such division or divisions shall be taken forthwith and successively.
