asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the deplorable standard of living of recipients of DPMA and if he will grant substantial increases to keep these incomes in line with the rapidly rising cost of living.

I do not accept the implication of the Deputy's question. Changes in the rates of these allowances are matters to be considered in the context of the pending budget. I am not in a position to make any further statement at present.
