Regulations SI No. 137 of 1979 made by me and SI No. 41 of 1980 made by the Minister for the Environment between them ensure that all the provisions of the 14 EEC directives are in operation in this country.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the action taken under SI 137/1979, under the following headings: (a) the number of applications received for type approvals and the number of certificates given under (i) Article 4, (ii) Article 5; (b) the number of notices given under Article 15; and (c) the extent to which Article 11 is being respected by manufacturers of tractors and components.
Regarding part (a) of the question, no applications for type approval have been received to date from manufacturers of tractors and components. The queries raised under parts (b) and (c) of the question do not therefore arise.
