Vol. 320 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building Societies Interest Rates.

3.

asked the Taoiseach if he intends to have further meetings with the building societies, subsequent to his recent meeting, to review the interest rates applicable to mortgages.

I have no particular plans for a further meeting with the Building Societies Association. It is, however, the intention that the working party comprising representatives of the Departments of Finance and the Environment and the Building Societies Association which was established as a result of my meeting with the association on 22 April will continue in existence and remain in touch with the situation.
