Written Answers. - National School Classrooms.

368.

asked the Minister for Education when the building of the two new classrooms at the Holy Family School, Cootehill, County Cavan, will commence.

I understand that work on the building of the new classrooms will commence before 31 May.

369.

asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the situation whereby pre-fabricated classrooms at the national school at Culfoda, County Sligo is structurally unsound and to the fact that the hall being used as a classroom has been condemned by sanitary inspector; if he will immediately sanction the tenders for an extension to this school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Tenders for a contract in connection with an extension to Culfoda national school are at present being examined by the Office of Public Works in consultation with my Department. A decision in relation to the placing of a contract will be expedited as much as possible.

My Department have asked the Office of Public Works to inspect and report on the condition of the pre-fabricated classroom and hall.
