Vol. 323 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions . Oral Answers . - Roscommon New Vocational School .

40.

asked the Minister for Education why in view of the firm commitment he gave on 25 June 1980 to a deputation from Roscommon VEC that the building of the proposed new vocational school in Roscommon town would commence in September-October 1980, his Department have not yet given final approval to the scheme; if he will now give immediate approval to this scheme in accordance with his promise to that deputation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

: A recommendation for the award of a contract for the proposed new vocational school in Roscommon town was received from the County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee on 4 November 1980. It is being considered in my Department's building unit.

A decision in relation to the matter will be expedited as much as possible.

: The remaining Questions will appear on next Tuesday's Order Paper.
