Vol. 323 No. 9

Written Answers . - Division of Kerry Bogs .

374.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the total acreage of bog at Annabeg, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, County Kerry, under the control of the Land Commission; and when it is proposed to divide this bog for development by local people who are in need of bog.

: I take it that the Deputy is referring to an area of 368 acres purchased by the Forest and Wildlife Service of my Department in the townland of Annabeg, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, County Kerry. Of this area approximately 100 acres has been set aside to meet local turbary requirements. The balance, which I am informed is unsuitable for turbary development, is being planted.
