Vol. 324 No. 4

Written Answers. - Beaumont (Dublin) New Hospital

324.

asked the Minister for Health the type of insulation being supplied for heat conservation in the construction of Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.

The following are the main types of insulation applied in the construction of the Beaumont Hospital.

External walls are of two main types, namely, cavity walling with brick facing and concrete block or mass concrete inner leaf. The second type has also a cavity wall with concrete block inner leaf and white glazed asbestos cladding with insulation quilting.

Flat roofs have 2½ inches of insulation material underneath asphalt finish except over the chapel area where metal decking is used which is supplied with its own insulation material attached.
