Vol. 331 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kinsale (Cork) Industries.

636.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if the IDA have any plans for the advance factory in Kinsale, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that it is vigorously promoting the 24,000 sq. ft. advance factory at Kinsale, County Cork, for suitable industrial development. Whilst interest has been expressed by overseas promoters in the factory, no proposals have yet emerged.

637.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if the IDA have found a replacement for a company (details supplied) in Kinsale, County Cork.

I understand from the Industrial Development Authority that their efforts to secure another industrial project for the premises in question have not, so far, been successful. These efforts are being maintained, but, as the Deputy will appreciate, the age and location of the premises are factors which have to be taken into account.
