Vol. 331 No. 12

Written Answers. - Finglas-Ballymun (Dublin) Industries.

286.

(Dublin North-West) asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the future plans, if any, for the provision of new industries in the Finglas and Ballymun areas of Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I announced recently that a US company, Storage Technology, propose to expand the present Documation factory at Finglas resulting in the creation of an additional 800 jobs.

In addition the Industrial Development Authority has arranged for the construction by private interests of a 42,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Finglas which is being actively promoted for new industry.

At Ballymun, four of the six 3,000 sq. ft. IDA small industry cluster units are occupied by industrial projects which will provide a total of 86 jobs at full production. The remaining two units are also being promoted for suitable new industry.
