Vol. 335 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

775.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if cattle headage grants will be reduced for farmers who are in receipt of sheep grants.

The restriction which limited payment to applicants in both cattle and sheep headage schemes in 1981 to an overall total of 30 livestock units has been lifted for this year's schemes. Applicants will be paid up to the maximum of 30 livestock units in each scheme this year if eligible. Cattle headage grants, therefore, will not be reduced for farmers in receipt of sheep grants.

776.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a grant under the farm modernisation scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The applicant is classified as a development farmer and is, therefore, required to keep farm accounts for each year of his plan. Payment of the grant cannot be made until the applicant furnishes evidence that he is complying with this requirement.
