I would refer the Deputy to a reply given to a similar question on this subject on 1 December 1981. Aer Rianta are continuing to actively pursue the possibility of attracting Federal Express to use Shannon Airport as a base for their European operations. Latest information available to my Department indicates that Federal Express have not yet taken any definitive decision on extension of their operations to Europe.
