asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a nitrogen grant to a person (details supplied) in Rockchapel, County Cork.

This grant will be paid shortly.

496.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a farm modernisation grant to a person (details supplied) in Newmarket, County Cork.

The local office of the Department has not been notified by the applicant that the work has been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed the grant will be paid without delay provided that the other conditions of the scheme have been complied with.

497.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay an interest subsidy to a person (details supplied) in Mallow, County Cork.

The interest subsidy in this case was paid on 31 May 1982.

498.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a sheep subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Brittas, County Wicklow.

The person named was paid his first instalment under the EEC scheme of premiums for good quality ewes 1981-82 on 30 September 1981. Approval by the EEC of the amount of the second instalment is awaited. If and when approval is received, payment will be made to applicants.

The person named was not eligible for sheep headage as his sheep were not substantially maintained on mountain grazing.
