Vol. 337 No. 4

Written Answers. - Bovine Disease.

89.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the County Clare sections of the veterinary department of the Land Commission will consult about the difficult situation created by the discovery of bovine disease in the land of a person (details supplied) in Mahera, Inagh, County Clare, since his neighbour of the same address was allocated a division of land without fencing on the right of way thus allowing both herds to mix with a subsequent spread of infection.

Consultations have already taken place in this regard between the district veterinary office and the local Land Commission officers. My information is that the right of way in question was in existence before the Land Commission made an allotment to the neighbour of the person named by the Deputy. In the circumstances, the Land Commission do not propose to fence the right of way.
