asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the poor heating system at Knockanore national school, County Waterford; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The chairman of the board of management for Knockanore national school, County Waterford, has recently submitted a report from his consultants concerning improvements to the heating system. This report is being considered in my Department at present.

7.

asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the new extension to the Christian Brothers school, Tramore, County Waterford.

As the architectural planning of the new extension to the Christian Brothers secondary school, Tramore, County Waterford, is at an early stage it is not possible to say precisely when construction work will be commenced.

8.

asked the Minister for Education when work is likely to commence on the provision of two extra classrooms at Faithlegg national school, County Waterford.

The Chairman was authorised on 23 November last to appoint an architect to prepare plans for the proposed extension to Faithlegg national school, County Waterford. The submission of sketch plans is awaited. At this early stage of planning it is not possible to state when building work may commence.

9.

asked the Minister for Education when work is expected to commence on the replacement of the existing classrooms at the Church of Ireland school at Lismore, County Waterford.

As indicated in the reply to a question from Deputy Deasy on 27 October 1982, a report on the existing accommodation at the Lismore Church of Ireland national school was requested from the Commissioners of Public Works. That report has recently been received and is being considered in my Department. A decision on how best to provide satisfactory accommodation will be taken as soon as possible and the chairman will be notified without delay.

10.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in regard to the repair or replacement of Clashmore national school, County Waterford.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply on 27 October 1982 to a question from Deputy Deasy in this regard.

It is understood from the Commissioners of Public Works that specifications for the replacement of windows at Clashmore national school are to be issued to the school authorities at an early date to enable them to invite tenders.

The matter of the future permanent accommodation requirements of the school is being considered at present following the recent receipt of a report in the matter from my Department's inspector.

11.

asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on a permanent extension to Ballinameela national school, Cappagh, County Waterford.

Evidence of title to the site extension required to facilitate the extension of Whitechurch national school, Ballinameela, County Waterford, has been received recently. A grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the project when this evidence is accepted by the Chief State Solicitor as establishing good title to the site, and when agreement has been reached concerning the local contribution to be provided. It is not possible to state when building work may commence.
