asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

It is expected that service will be provided within about six months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be transferred for a person (details supplied) in County Meath as it is imperative that this person have a telephone for national security reasons.

It is expected that service will be provided within about two months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a firm (details supplied) in County Cavan as they applied in 1982.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the end of this year.

A removal of service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5, as his telephone has been out of order for a considerable period.

It is expected that service will be provided about the end of this year.

It had been expected that necessary engineering work to enable service to be provided would be completed earlier. Regrettably this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for persons (details supplied) in Dublin 9, as service has been affected by the demolition of a telephone pole on 12 February 1983.

Service will be restored within a week.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephones will be supplied to all applicants in Rathfarnham Woods, Dublin 12; when work will commence on the cabling necessary to enable service to be provided to their estate; and where the outstanding cabling work is to be carried out.

Telephone service will be provided for all applicants in Rathfarnham Woods as soon as possible after estate development including necessary ducting has been completed by the builders.

It is expected that cabling work will commence within the estate within the next two months or so and will be progressed to the extent that estate development permits.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants for telephones in the Dublin area seeking a telephone for: (a) business and (b) residential use; and the number of such applicants in each of the aforementioned categories who have been waiting for service for one, two, three, four, five, six and over six years.

As the answer is in tabular form I propose to circulate it in the Official Report. The figures relate to the 01 (Dublin) area which includes parts of Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a telephone service has not been provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the installation fee was paid in December 1982 and as a neighbour who applied at a later date has already received service.

When the person named was invited to sign an agreement and make advance payment it was expected that telephone service would be provided for him within about three months. Regrettably this was not possible because the amount of work involved in the area was greater than originally anticipated.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a month. It has not been possible in the time available to research the reference to another application. If the Deputy can furnish details of the application referred to further inquiry will be made.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if extra telephone cables are being installed in the Collinstown/Glenidon area of County Westmeath; and, if so, when telephones will be installed there.

Work is in progress in the Collinstown/Glenidon area on the provision of additional telephone trunk circuits.

It is expected that necessary cabling to enable telephone service to be provided for applicants in the Collinstown/Glenidon area will commence within about three months and that service will be provided for the existing applicants progressively during the following six months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be erected in the village of Dunderry, Navan, County Meath.

Dunderry is not included in this year's kiosk programme. It will be considered for inclusion in a future programme.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when additional telephone lines will be provided for a firm (details supplied) in Dublin 2.

Additional telephone lines will be provided as soon as possible for the firm named but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the end of this year.

It has not been possible in the time available to trace an application on behalf of the person named.

Within about six weeks. It was expected that service would be provided earlier. Regrettably this was not possible because of the need to rearrange cabling in the locality.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a public telephone kiosk will be provided at Pearsons Bridge, Kealkill, Bantry, County Cork.

Instructions have been issued for the erection of a kiosk at Pearsons Bridge. It will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary engineering stores become available.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the proposed telephone kiosk at Dungegan, Ballinskelligs PO, Killarney, County Kerry, will be erected under the Kerry County Council's guarantee scheme.

My Department are at present studying the feasibility of providing a telephone kiosk at Dungegan under the guarantee scheme. The Deputy will be communicated with when the result of the study is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone exchange in Glenbeigh post office, County Kerry, will be automated.

In the fourth quarter of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be provided at Cloughan, County Westmeath, to serve the ordinary and emergency needs of the local community.

Cloughan is not included in this year's kiosk programme. It will be considered for inclusion in a future programme.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the survey is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the present position regarding a telephone account problem of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; and the action being taken to rectify this matter.

The subscriber in this case owes the Department an amount of £728.03. All his complaints have been fully investigated and the charges were found to be correct. Arrangements have been made to withdraw service on the line.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the survey is completed.

It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named who applied on 1 April 1982, because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the 01 area. It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants waiting for telephone service at Cypress Downs, Templeogue, Dublin 6; and when telephones will be provided for them.

There are 46 waiting applicants in Cypress Downs, Templeogue, Dublin 6. It is expected that service will be provided for the waiting applicants in the area about the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason repair work has not been carried out on a telephone of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo which has been reported as being out of order on numerous occasions.

There have been a number of faults on this line since the beginning of the year. These were cleared as they arose. A fault on the subscriber's line at present requires the installation of a new section of cable. This is being undertaken at present and it is expected service will be restored within a few days.
