The Commissioners of Public Works have purchased one site only for a new Garda station at Ashbourne. The entire site is still in their possession and plans are currently being prepared for the erection of a Garda station on the site, which is, and always has been, considered suitable for this purpose.
The Commissioners have had an approach from Meath County Council for the sale or lease of portion of the site for a branch library. They are considering the proposal.
