Vol. 343 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Roscommon Water Scheme.

576.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give a formal approval to Cloonkeen/Clooncundra group water scheme, County Roscommon.

Grants totalling £43,600 were provisionally allocated to this group on 11 June, 1982 and a special contribution of £10,000 payable by Roscommon County Council towards the cost of headworks on the scheme was approved by my Department on 9 November 1982. It was originally intended to serve the scheme from the Castlerea town supply but it has now been agreed that the group scheme will be supplied from the Ballinlough/Cloonfad regional supply. A revised design and costings for the scheme are at present under examination in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say when the group will be advised to proceed with the construction of the scheme.
