asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the position regarding the provision of a public telephone kiosk at Meenacross, Glencolmcille, County Donegal.

It had been planned to provide a kiosk at Meenacross. However, the programme for the provision of rural kiosks is under review at present in the light of the financial position generally and it is not possible at this stage to say when a kiosk will be provided at the location in question.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the immediate transfer of a taxi company telephone to its new premises (details supplied) in County Galway.

It is expected that a transfer of telephone service will be provided within about three months.

It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the County Sligo area.

Service was offered to the person named in March 1983 but there has been no response.

A further offer of service will now be made and if accepted, it is expected that service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed.

Service was offered to the person named in November, 1982. The offer was not accepted and the application was cancelled.

A further offer of service is now being made and it is expected that service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed.

There are some 15 waiting applicants bearing Jobstown addresses. It is expected that service will be provided about the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 as it is a business premises.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who was allowed a credit of £12 on her telephone account for a disconnection which lasted for 11 weeks, subsequently has been receiving telephone bills without the credit being shown and, as a result of not paying it, has been told that she is about to have her telephone disconnected, in spite of numerous attempts by her to explain this matter by writing on the foot of each bill sent to her that this money is not owing; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is regretted that the normal procedure was not followed on this occasion. Records indicate that the subscriber's telephone was out of order for two periods totalling five weeks, approximately, and an appropriate credit of £12.68 will be allowed on a future account. Service will not, of course, be disconnected in respect of non-payments of this amount meantime.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the survey is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will investigate the telephone accounts forwarded to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 14 since December 1980 because the bills have been excessive and the person considers that he has been overcharged; and if all future calls will be fully and properly monitored to ensure that all future accounts are accurate.

The matter has been investigated and the accounts are in order. Arrangements have been made for an official of my Department to communicate with the subscriber on his return from holidays. Every care is taken in the preparation of accounts to ensure that they are accurate.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephones will be supplied to all telephone applicants in the Rathfarnham Castle Development, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.

It is expected that telephones will be provided for applicants in Rathfarnham Castle Development about the end of this year.

The provision of a public telephone at Faugheen is not regarded as warranted at present and it is not therefore proposed to provide one there.
