Vol. 345 No. 9

Written Answers. - Motor Insurance.

271.

asked the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he is aware of the discrimination against certain categories of occupations of people who wish to obtain motor insurance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Occupational loadings are a general feature of the underwriting practice of motor insurers and reflect the higher level of risk associated with drivers in certain occupations. If the Deputy is aware of any specific problem in connection with a particular occupation he should furnish details to my Department.
