Vol. 346 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Louth School Gymnasium.

632.

asked the Minister for Education the position in relation to the proposed gymnasium at Saint Oliver's College, Rathmullen, Drogheda, County Louth; when it is expected that a final sanction for the building will be given; when approximately building will commence; if she is aware of the serious situation in relation to this school in fact that approximately 800 students attend there; and that this is one of the few such schools in the country without a facility of this sort; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As indicated in my reply to a similar question from the Deputy in May this year, I have approved the provision of a physical education hall at Saint Oliver's College, Rathmullen, Drogheda. A design plan is presently being prepared and will, it is expected, to be completed before the end of the year. The question of the timescale for provision of the hall will be considered in the context of the capital allocation for 1984 and ongoing commitments and priorities.
