The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for a report on the applicant's eligibility for a grant. On receipt of this report the matter will be finalised as quickly as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in approving a home improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Galway whose home was destroyed by fire.
There was no delay in dealing with this application. The Department's inspector reported in the case that the house to which the house improvement grant application related had been demolished and that the applicant was proceeding to build a new house for which she intended to apply for a new house grant. There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the applicant.
