It is a condition of the farm modernisation scheme that grant aid is not payable for items of work carried out without the prior written approval of the farm development service. Consequently the works in progress on the occasion of a recent inspection visit by an FDS official do not qualify for a grant under the scheme. The application in respect of a silage slab which had not been commenced on the date of the visit is being processed and an approval will issue shortly.
